The mind of a creative director is probably mad complex. Their brains contain compartments full of diverse inspirations while they all come together to create a whole. I think Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy does an excellent job as a creative director. Tisci’s ability to combine various cultures with his Italian heritage is remarkable. I love how the hair in the recent F/W 13 show provides pops of color. While it reminds me of Italian male sculptures, the hair is still soft and feminine.

Givenchy’s Spring collection moves in creative alignment with the previous fall and resort collections. My favorite motif in the Spring collection is the tunic mixed with tapered bottoms. In terms of principles of design, the look provides balance without strict perfection.

Riccardo Tisci’s mantra: “Sophistication with a slice of indifference”. Givenchy’s resort 2013 collection is styled to the narrative of two contrasting personalities colliding. Dressed in all black, the sophisticated gentleman meshes with the wild street kid that refuses to give a f#ck.
As Mr. Play-it-safe escapes the world of casual luncheons and spills onto the streets, he reaches for linen pink bombers, paisley printed shirts, and his kilt — Did you think he’d ditch his favorite piece from the than Fall 2012 collection?
Riccardo Tisci continues his military/goth motif from Fall with a lighter color palette and childlike edge. Staying true to his vision of a “personal, strong, and recognizable wardrobe for men”, Tisci created garments that will be styled together or plucked piece by piece. One could easily don the black blazer with the collection’s various selection of prints- or without. Stripes ménage with paisley and kaleidoscopic prints, while black pulls everything together.
Resort 2013′s outerwear carries over Fall 2012′s elongated tunic silhouette, and is balanced with tailored trousers. As always, the times are reflected through fashion. The days of excess are done, now clean and simple reign supreme.
